“No Kings Day” Message Promoted Through Artists With Millions of Listeners

An important message to support the United States Constitution bears repeating.

On June 14, 2025, many artists protected Constitutional America and I just want to say thank-you because nothing in this country is guaranteed at all.

No Title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States: And no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State.

Personally, I detest the hatred voiced in public by President Donald J. Trump against Americans. This just seems impossible to behold. His acts of hate promote something nefarious. Words of hate often put real lives in danger. That type of mindset is disaster socially speaking. Trump really doesn’t display fortitude nor a past record of indiscriminate kindness which is like a natural American trait.

On June 11, Lynda Carter (@reallyndacarter) posted an image reading, “NO KINGS SINCE 1776”. The singer urged forward the hundreds of thousands of followers on her Instagram account with the words, “Rise up in your community and stand together.”

Sara Bareilles’ account showed an image of a cardboard sign. The words on it read, “Who made you king of anything?” Bareilles wrote about her concerns. This included the statement made at the end of the post, reading, “There is no going back anywhere. Time only marches forward. And us with it. March on today, stay safe. And because we DO love this country, we fight for it.” Sara Bareilles has 880,000 Instagram followers.

Moby posted footage showing him at a packed rally with the words, “No kings. We need to do everything we can to protect democracy: protest, donate, post, run for office, vote, organize. Also now is absolutely not the time for any in-fighting.” Moby’s account has 1,100,000 followers.

With follower numbers in the millions, music sensation Lizzo (@lizzobeating), made a video wherein she discussed how appalled she was by a law enforcement officer who, apparently, had threatened to kill protestors. Lizzo brought up the relevance of today’s right to freedom of speech to the crucial and forming years of the nation, back in the late 1700’s. In this post, the international superstar spoke poignantly with statements made such as, “We don’t serve a king. We don’t serve a dictator,” and “I want to encourage everybody to also protect each other,” and “Know your rights and stand on them.”

Justin M. Sargent, who portrayed King George III in the Broadway sensation, Hamilton wrote, “History has its eyes on us..#nokings.”

David Michael Bennett, on his account @thepsinemusic, posted a black square with one statement on it in white, reading, “NO KINGS IN AMERICA.” The artist included a message that asked that those who attended one of the day’s rallies consider sharing any coverage on their social media accounts.

Kirk Meeks (@kirkiem), a musician and songwriter from Seattle, Washington, shared his footage of thousands of Washington residents attending rallies. He also wrote, “I marched today with thousands of people from Cal Anderson Park to the Space Needle—not in anger, but in defiance. Peaceful. Powerful. United.”

With heartfelt words, Americans stands strong in unity.

Flag Day (14 June) was the perfect opportunity for a “No Kings” demonstration. Flag Day celebrates the anniversary of the adoption of the stars and stripes as the United States flag. That was all the way back in 1777.

Looking at the signage displayed in the photos and videos on-line from Flag Day this year, it appears millions of Americans are enraged by a single “governor” out-stepping his Constitutional boundaries. The right for our “majority vote” to sway the laws that are made seems to be fully ignored and this pushes everyone to act.

Everyone who wants democracy must act swiftly when just one individual’s too-radical-of-changes wipe away the results of hundreds of years where honest and fair votes were cast by the people for things like education facilities and protection of the state parks.
