The Music Modernization Act (2018) is the most serious attack made against the copyrights of artists everywhere. This act demands a “compulsory license” for all released musical recordings. With the passing of the MMA, more than one thousand lawsuits against streaming services were swept aside. The MMA has devalued the music industry completely by undercutting the way music should be sold—by the artists and their appointed representatives.
